It is a simple request - treat everyone fairly.

The daughter of a rich lawyer should not get into ND over the sone of a poor electrician because she is black and female while he is white and male. That is a common scenario, sadly. The school wants to get the best minority candidates to keep their admittance stats high, but this of course means that they are shopping down an aisle of the well to do.
They are looking at skin color first - it is wrong.
