I was a young attorney handling a real estate transaction and the purchasers showed up with over $100,000 in cash...despite the contract not allowing for more than 5, or maybe 10.

Seller still accepted it. Royal PITA on many levels but it did happen.

(No idea if where they got the cash was legit or not...)
