I have been around career DOJ prosecutors for 4 decades.

With very few exceptions, politics has never been relevant. They are very methodical, vet the dogshit out of their cases, and when they indict, it is almost always a grounded meritorious charging decision.

The US Attorney in Virginia who was fired is a real lawyer, a career professional, who declined prosecution of Comey.

Trump’s lackey (who has never tried a criminal case) stepped in and authorized the indictment.

Bondi rolled over and played dead.
