If you imagine that our current group of politicians are uniquely nasty and petty you know little about the Founding Fathers.
Jefferson, Hamilton, Adams, Burr, etc. were as disturbed as personalities as are Trump, Obama, Clinton, et al.
And yet... despite the media whipped drama, there really is no crisis because of all the checks and balances built into our precious Constitution.
If you recall, it was just a few years ago when "Demographics" meant that the Dems would have a permanent majority and that Obama was going to be able to "fundamentally transform America."
In retrospect this was a joke... as is Trump's draining of the DC swamp.
Today, there are folks going apoplectic at the fantasy that Trump will establish a fascist dictatorship.
The truth is that he is already manifesting signs of senioritis and as soon as he falters his sycophants will get over their faux allegiance and begin jockeying for their next gig.
CHILAX... it's all kabuki and Madison is chortling in heaven.
