I live just outside the D, which was undoubtedly once the most dysfunctional metropolitan dystopia in US history….UNTIL it was forced into bankruptcy! This cleaned out all the decades of government corruption and debt that had rendered the city unlivable. Since then things have steadily improved and today the city core is vibrant for the first time in many decades. Best of all, the politicians now run on promises of increased efficiency of services and not race bating. This is what NYC needs, as opposed to class difference exploitation. But first the Big Apple needs to hit rock bottom… and Mamdani is the quickest ticket on the plunge to the bottom.
