Some Catholic leaders push extra-doctrinal activities.

It is out of good intentions, but they really shouldn't do that, because it gives the impression that the Catholic Church believes something is required, when it is merely allowed.

It takes a decade or more to discipline Bishops who mislead the flock. In the meantime, scandal (in the formal, canonical sense) stands. Sometimes it takes a new pope to set things right. JPII had to come along before liberation theology (which is where Obama's "collective salvation" ideas originated) was properly suppressed. Social justice is also mostly extra-doctrinal as well; Jesus did not come to lobby governments to use their power in certain ways.

Evil preaches tolerance until it is dominant, then it tries to silence good.
