NJ is bluer than blue, and has been for a while. VIrginia is getting there. Tons of government employees.

The real story here is that tens of thousands of voters decided to vote for someone who stated, in seriousness, that he would like to murder the children of a political opponent. There really is no way to rationalize him, certainly, nor the people who voted for him. Truly "deplorables."
