>Obamacare was designed to address the need for ALL Americans to have HC coverage...and fit that solution into the existing and entrenched HC Insurance System...not an easy task, but clearly 46M more Americans now have at least basic HC that allows them to get early checkups on what could have been untreated serious illnesses...along with reducing the demand for very expensive ER services...(in spite of the host's protestations)
>"Fee for Service" Institutions encourage unnecessary medical expenses...and that's the predominant method in the U.S....as Dr. B talks about...but there are better ones that exist under the title of "Capitation", like Kaiser Permanente and the Cleveland Clinic, where they establish a Budget for expenses, and seek to stay within it...but are still responsive to genuine...expensive...needs. Our family has experienced this first hand...it works...because they use "Evidence Based Medicine" practices to balance prices with outcomes.
>Once again I urge everyone to read Steven Brill's book "America's Bitter Pill" for all things 'Obamacare'...the evolution of HC in America...and suggestions on how to get to universal care at 1/2 the price.
>Dr. Bhattacharya still doesn't get how wrong he was about the Great Barrington Declaration...'Herd Immunity' in the middle of a raging pandemic without vaccines...and NO PLAN for have to pull it off...borders on insanity...or sadism.
