Again, you never have to leave your house. I don't think you have to feel sad to want to get your free $50 from FanDuel, or whatever. I don't gamble now, but I did hit a few casinos years ago, and I do remember thinking it could be addictive. It all started with a social event with one of my past employers. I wasn't really trying to improve my sad lot in life.
Thankfully, my kids gamble on the stock market, not on sports or with cards. Playing the market at least involves studying things that matter in the business world, and at least has some application in saving for retirement.
