Guillermo del Toro's "Frankenstein" (Netflix) is worth your time (no spoilers).

It balanced fidelity to many of the elements in the novel while still presenting a fresh take on the story. I have not previously given Oscar Isaac enough credit, but man he is a terrific, versatile actor. Not sure why he isn't getting more push than Pedro Pascal for big roles, but he was great.

I'd never heard of the actor who played Frankenstein's Monster (Jacob Elordi), but he was also exceptional. Great cast, great script. As always, I defer to jimbasil's expertise on cinematography to grade artistically, but I recommend this one.

    • I thought it was pretty good. Pacing was a little off. Creature FX and cinematagophy were good. - LanceManion - 10:02am 12/4/25
