Illegal immigration barely impacts any of us today.
It's worthwhile enforcing our immigration laws but no need to make a public display of it.
My guess is that historically Democrats have deported more illegals than Republicans. They just did not exploit it for political purposes.
On the other hand, until recently neither party supported illegal immigration as a means of vote buying.
So it's not just fringe players who are spicing up this divide.
