Again, I'm willing to have a conversation about whether we want to let our law enforcement officers treat vehicles as deadly weapons. But, let's not pretend that this officer's actions are somehow outside the norm. Indeed, the officer on the side probably could have drawn and fired; there have been cases where officers fired because the car continued to move and they feared being knocked under a wheel of the car. I'm not saying it is right, and I'm willing to discuss whether we should change the standard. But, this case is far more cut and dry than many: the officer was justified legally under current norms. Let's discuss changing those norms.
