It is counterproductive if the audience is Danes and Greenlanders, and the goal is to get them to negotiate for Greenland.

But ELP had a good point. If you assume the audience is Russia and China (which is why, perhaps, his statements to Denmark are public), then the statements could have value to deter Russia and China.

Evil preaches tolerance until it is dominant, then it tries to silence good.
