Campbell is in the heart of Silicon Valley and about as run of the mill place as you can get. Asked my mom what was going on, and she said that between the homeless and nuts trying to interrupt mass, they keep a guard at all masses. It wasn't a rent-a-cop, but an off-duty swat guy in full gear.
Sure enough, during one of the Sunday masses, some drugged out nut came wandering in. They let him go for about 5 mins, then the security guard gently escorted him out. More a spectacle than anything else.
I turned to my mom and asked her if this should be normal. She just shrugged. Kinda fucked up.
