On a personal note my wife and I, along with others from our parish, joined a Catholic Charities project...led by a Presbyterian...in helping a Muslim family from Afghanistan...by way of Russia...to get settled in the Bay Area...they were so appreciative that even with little money, they had us to their small apartment for a very large dinner...and many months later, invited us to their daughter's Muslim wedding...including Henna on our hands ;-)...

The best way to cure your bias is to get out of your cocoon and engage with those in the 'outside world'.
