By most objective opinions, Rubio's recent speech about US/European relations was at worst mature and diplomatic and at best downright inspirational, especially in TONE (which was anything but Trumpesque).

Personally, I loved it... but worried that it would not sit well with the almighty one for two reasons: First, he seems to detest any non-dictatorial Euros who will not bend the knee to him and Second because his minions are never supposed to be given credit for anything other than reflecting his own brilliance and glory,

His joke about firing Rubio seems to me either a Freudian slip or a barely veiled threat.
