...according to your reasoning, the taxpayer shouldn't be on the hook for such things as Liberal Arts Degrees...

You really are a card carrying Libertarian...you take everything government provides...but refuse to extend a hand (or a dollar) to anyone else who might be in need.

It was a Liberal President, FDR, who started the GI Bill...and it's still going strong today and thus far over 16M Vets have used those funds to make great lives for themselves...like my Dad's B-17 crew member, "Joe"...a poor FLA kid...who became an attorney in the State Department after graduating College and Law School, thanks to the GI Bill.

Thankfully, you don't make Policy/Program decisions on how to make the most of the USA's "Human Capital".
