If you would actually man up and read his paper, you would know that.
The fact is, Ty, you are woefully uninformed on this topic. You just are. And so most likely is your vaunted ID doctor.
Please allow me a brief dissertation on "expert" doctors. Pensacola's top opthalmologist told me about 25 years ago that I could no longer wear contact lenses due to a condition called neovascularization, where not enough oxygen is getting to your corneas through your contacts. I did some basic Internet research and found lenses with a high dk/t ratio did, in fact, allow enough oxygen to flow through to stop the neovascularization.
I printed out the research I found and showed the opthalmologist. He had zero idea such contacts had been developed and were already on the market. Zero.
So when you blindly just accept what your ID doctor says, forgive me if I am not impressed.
