themselves when, and how often they become pregnant...and to protect them from having to carry a forced or coerced pregnancy to term, if they never wanted it to occur...i.e. their human right.
Note that there are other ways of reducing the number of abortions (Contraceptives...better sex/sexuality education...funding for programs making it tenable for women to carry pregnancies to term), without sacrificing women's basic reproductive rights....note also, that in reality, anti-abortion laws don't actually stop abortions...as seen prior to Roe v Wade, hundreds of thousands of "Self, and Back Alley" abortions were chosen, with consequent harm and deaths to those women...especially those who were poor (those with financial means were able to seek out abortions far from home)...in essence, those laws are "Unenforceable", and cause more harm.
