They fired missiles at Diego Garcia that could easily reach European cities (not to mention their threat as terrorists with smuggling in weapons through unsecured borders and their pending ability to destroy Israel).... More importantly, they were on the brink of nuclear weapons capability - Obama and Biden's facilitation of Iranian efforts with the JCPOA agreement which provided them with the economic means (pallets of released cash) and time to deceive.
They were playing the exact same game with the IAEA who was never able to certify them as being in compliance as they have been playing with these peace deal negotiations.

But you are right and we agree on something - We are now in the same position that we were in before the attack....except now the Iranian nuclear threat is gone.
