Consequently, the GOP is in Desperation Mode and throwing out their Go To Trope..."Communism"...used it (to no avail) in the 30's and 40's against FDR...and then Sen. McCarthy famously used it to intimidate opponents.

Note that McCarthy's erstwhile Chief Counsel, Roy Cohn, later became none other than Donald J. Trump's Muse and Teacher...and so it comes as no surprise that Trump is following his advice to "Attack...Attack...Attack" with Made Up Claims...like the one we're seeing right now.

Coming back to reality, even Democratic Socialist, Bernie Sanders, was labeled a Communist by DJT prior to the 2020 election...and yet the Democratic Party didn't choose him.

"Democratic Socialism" has been a part of the Democratic Party Platform since the days of FDR...witness Social Security...the G.I. Bill...Fair Housing...Equal Employment...the 40 hr work week...etc., etc. and this nation has not wavered from the path of True Democracy.
