"...We didn't connect..." speaks to the mental part of the match...not the physical or strategic parts. The team was distracted...and the distraction was all due to Trump's unwarranted intrusion. It became THE TOPIC throughout the World Cup teams and fans. NO WAY that the U.S. team was 'Insulated' from it.
