...and then try to work to marginalize him. of course, he couldn't do that, and in fact, to get his vote each time they'd have to leave him alone....so yes, jim was fully ready to support Platner even after the liberal women accused him of rape just as he was after all of the other previous revelations of horrid behavior before that.
