As his supporters celebrate their victory and prepare to take office after all votes are counted, fair to say that our democracy requires that Youngkin's victory should be embraced as legitimate, particularly by McAuliffe, the Democrats, and any elected official?
Doesn't a newly elected Governor deserve the respect of the Virginia electorate, who per their voice, chose Youngkin over McAuliffe?
Or, should McAuliffe and Democrat leadership across the nation, keep repeating 1000x that the election was a sham? Should the current Virginia legislature (Democrat majority) + Democrat Governor, have sought to change their election laws, giving the Democrats final say over the vote counting?
The linchpin of our democracy requires legitimacy to the victor.
