One of his first pods back in September was an explainer of how he got fired by Trump. Essentially when Trump was elected, he Bharara assumed he'd be fired because most US attorney's are when a new administration comes in. But Trump called him and asked him to Trump Tower and then asked him to stay on, at the recommendation of Schumer. Trump then made a series of calls to Bharara during the transition, which made him uncomfortable, given his jurisdiction over Trump Tower as the US attorney of SDNY. But, he figured maybe it was ok because Trump was not yet president. So he returned the calls, which basically consisted of Trump shooting the shit. When Trump did it again as president, Bharara chose not to call back, because he felt it was improper, again citing his conflict. Trump fired him the next day.
It's relevant again because Trump's attorney, Cohen was raided by the FBI from the SDNY. Bharara would have been in charge of that investigation. Bharara gives some insight into what's happening, and how something like that would go down, as far as raiding the office of Cohen, who is the presidents attorney, in his latest podcast. In short, Cohen is in deep shit. Apparently. Give it a listen.
