...So I was home today, and early in the day, I get a call from my state's democratic party. I tried to be nice to the young girl since it wasn't one of those evil males. I said, "I'm sorry, but i just don't want to do this, but thank you", and I hung up. About 3 hours later, i get a follow up call - this one from a male (and he sounded suspiciously like one of those white priviliged rich boys that might have drunk a lot of beer during his frat years). he again asked to talk to me. This time, i said "Sure."
He asked me if i had gotten my absentee ballot yet, and I said, "No". he asked me if i would, and i replied, "Oh what's the point? We have fought so hard these past few weeks. We have done everything we can to resist this administration, and still, in the end they win. They always win."
At this point, the caller sounded really worried and responded, "No, no! Republicans have only won2 of the last 6 presidential elections , and our votes make a difference" (This statistic he gave was not true obviously). I said, "Did you say they only won 2 of 6 midterm elections?". He said, "No, presidential elections".
I then asked, "Is this a presidential election?". He said, "No." I said, "Then what's the point?" with a long, sad, and very believable sigh of depression.
I then said, " I am just sick of it all now. I give up". As he panicked to save my vote with anything he could think of, I hung up. I then began laughing
I like to think I helped last time in surprising the pollsters and the media, and I will continue to do so.
Dilly! Dilly!
