Whether or not former US Presidents turned a blind eye in forging agreements with Saudi Arabia (perhaps at times the best option amidst bad choices) in maintaining stability in the Middle East, is irrelevant.
There appears to be convincing evidence that the Kingdom ordered the brutal murder of a Virginia resident and journalist for one of our nation’s elite newspapers. Full stop.
Reasonable minds can disagree as to what sanctions the US should impose.
But, that question is not before us just yet. The first step is to publicly condemn Saudi Arabia and the crown prince. But, at present, our President is comfortable providing cover and letting Deny Deny Deny win the day.
It is shameful. The President speaks for the nation.
Who are we?
