No one said medical care isn't expensive. And in the US, we allow our citizens to be bamboozled, tricked, confidence gamed, and out right taken advantage of by Big Pharma - Big Hospital - Corporate Insurances - our Greedy Politicians, and in all create horrible super expensive HC system for the citizens the US.
Lets say we introduce our prices for medical care into Canada and take away their medical care system an return it with ours but we keep the currency difference to our advantage - what would your "co-worker" say then?
The question isn't the cost of living in Canada, it's their HC system compared with the US nonHC system.
I can't imagine why many or "so many" Canadians come here to the US to do their shopping - It costs them far more here - they just don't have to pay GST and PST.
Missed diagnosis? Are you being serious? Malpractice Insurances for MD's in the US are sky high and it's not because they're 100% accurate with their diagnosis.
You're conflating issues and inventing issues which have no part or reasoning to not have Single Payer Health Care in the US.
And no, I don't believe you are having substantive conversations about HC with Canadians.
You can tell your buddy, Jakers it's just Math.
