Think of the savings of this nonessential government shut down. Why should we have so much nonessential government anyways?
I understand that buried within that massive, bloated bureaucracy there must be some important programs. But they hide within a massive amount of useless and expensive waste.
The longer the shut down goes, the longer the public has to realize that their lives are just fine with the shut down. Now, it will certainly be missed in DC and in a few isolated instances around the country - but not enough to be noticed by the general public nor to justify their cost in the big picture. The Dems don’t want that, and this is Trump’s ace in the hole.
Imagine when he starts asking the question in a few months, “how are you surviving the government “shut down”?
