The point is, the senate is not currently determining whether to appoint him as governor. That partly explains the "outrage" differential. One was pertinent to a decision that was about to be made (that cannot be undone until he dies), and the other is pertinent to, I don't know, the next election in Virginia? I hope he loses or steps down, but that's not the point. I was trying to explain part of the cause of the "outrage" differential.
