The stand-in doesn't know Kooch's game, distances, and psyche, etc. as well.
But, obviously "El Tucan" did just fine if Kooch won the damn thing and therefore deserves more than a token amount.
Kooch tried to give himself a windfall of $125,000 that he would not normally get . Pretty low when he earned $1.3 million.
Also, when called out for only paying $3,000 he said "no, he got more than $3000". $5000 is bullshit to pretend to be significantly more and Kooch should have done some damage control then and paid the guy something more significant and claimed there was an "error" in the original payment.
Instead he doubled down. Will never root for the guy again, if a situation arises where I might have. Might cost him a little bit on the endorsement side.
