At the same time cast his true bishops under the bus and while he did not live up to his own call for transparency. This month’s meeting is monumentally important. I pray that the American bishops are not dismissed or scolded. The Vatican needs to clearly explain the elevation of both of these black sheep to positions of special power and influence within Pope Francis’ inner circle.
The dogma will stay safe thanks to the protection afforded to it by Christ, but it looks very possible that there are problems with Pope Francis himself. He needs to address this fully. My bishop has expressed his dismay at the Vatican’s letter to the American bishops at the very last minute for them to hold on their November 2018 meeting - a delay which the media attacked them for rather than Pope Francis interestingly. There need to be answers because it is all too easy to draw seemingly obvious conclusions otherwise..
