Had to scratch that Saturday because of my MIL's 85th birthday celebration. Both sides Irish, so it was a de facto St. Pat's Celebration anyway. Afterwards went to a local Irish pub for a few pints and then on to a bar in town to see a friend's band. They tossed in some classic Irish tunes along with the U2, etc. Called it a night at 2 am.
Sunday morning made a full Irish breakfast. Cooked a corned beef low and slow all day and made two Irish soda breads. Went to a winery in my neighborhood in the afternoon that had an Irish duo performing along with green beer ( I stuck to wine there) and some Irish step dancers.
Sunday night ate the corned beef, cabbage, boiled potatoes with soda bread and Irish butter and washed it down with some Guinness. Sat down at 8 with an Irish coffee and watched The Quiet Man. Took my dog, Finn (named for Finn MacCool) for a walk. Returned 'neath the Irish tricolor flying by the door and called it a night.
