I find it really incredible that your job is essentially applied science and yet you are so easily swayed by the craziest conspiracy horseshit. It’s downright fascinating.
The problem was caused by sulfur dioxide released mostly by burning coal. SO2 emissions have happily decreased by 40% (at least in the US) since the problem was diagnosed and steps were taken in the 80s and 90s to mitigate it. Another success story similar to ozone depletion (which you apparently still don’t believe in because Info Wars or somebody told you it is all untrue).
