Some jobs were never meant to provide a “living wage”
If I were still working at a fast food place for a bit over $1 an hour like I did my entire senior year in High School to make spending money, would I now be worth $15 an hour or even $7.25 an hour for doing the same job? No.
I’m generally opposed to Federally mandated wages since the value of money (purchasing power) varies so greatly from place to place. But if it has to exist, I would say $10.85, which is the inflation adjusted highest minimum wage in history (in 1968) would be more logical than $15.
