He had his version of "deplorables" comments, and he talked about encouraging races of people to punish other races, "their enemies." I could go on, but I don't care enough right now (and I'm moving a kid to college today, so I will be signing off).
I suspect you paid attention to Obama's worst comments the same way I pay attention to Trump's worst comments, which is to say very little. Obama would have a good sound bite, but then he would have an opposite sound bite, and you likely only heard the good one.
I'm not saying Obama was worse than Trump. I'm not comparing them. And, I'm not even saying he was the most important factor. (I think the most important factor was the Dems abandoning the working union member.) I'm just saying Obama was divisive (not to you, but to others), and that contributed to the rise of Donald Trump. He was A factor. He was a unifier when he got elected, but he did not govern that way.
