They were given a lone by the DOE years ago (under Obama admin) but the cost overruns needed a recent infusion of more
financial aide to complete the project. It was known if the project wasn't completed it would unduly increase the cost Georgia consumers for no additional use - the project was $13billion over it's projected costs - the nuclear facility is adding two more reactors
and has been in service since the '80's.
