At the time, many were justifiably critical of Snowden not using the whistleblower route.

This Trump whistleblower relied in good faith on the safety and confidentiality provided by US law, as did the Inspector General. Given the manner in which the GOP is suffocating this complaint, why shouldn’t any future whistleblower feel forced to take the Snowden path?
