Whistleblowers (especially in the intelligence field) have to be able to rely in good faith on US law -- clearly designed to protect their identity.
Trump should not have intervened and the Acting DIA should have let the process played out per statute, whereby the complaint goes to the House Intelligence Committee.
Frankly, we ought not set a precedent of having presidential phone calls aired in the public domain. Trump's obstruction (aided by Barr and the Acting DIA) have created the mess and compromised the identity of the whistleblower.
