In that case why would he be able to receive "whistleblower" protection? Put his name out there, haul him in front of the Senate Intel committee, and find out how he obtained access to all the second and third hand information he put out.
If the House does impeach Trump, they better have real evidence that Trump committed impeachable offenses that wrre likely to result in conviction in the Senate. Otherwise Trump will be reelected in 2020
