Every time I hear them promise to forgive student loans (and I think it is a matter of when, not if), I get infuriated. I (a) get a college degree calculated to get me a well paying job, (b) join the military to stay out of debt, then (c) save my ass off for 20 years for my kids, from the moment they were born (which I'm already penalized for by financial aid departments) and (d) require my kids to get job-oriented degrees......and then some ND gender studies major gets $200k in loans forgiven because (i) no savings, and (ii) picked an expensive college instead of a state school and (iii) picked a non-income-producing major? Fuck that bullshit.
We should not reward bad decisions.
Few things will piss me off more than student loan forgiveness. I want my tuition money back if they go there...pay everyone's tuition for the past 20 years...everyone's...not just the deadbeats. Reward the responsible people for once.
