Just for example, Hannity is pure GOP/Trump no matter what. Carlson, on the other hand, deviates from the major party lines all the time. He seeks out liberals who agree with him on certain populist issues and certain libertarian issues and brings them on his show all the time. He is about all kinds of freedoms (just not the newly defined "freedoms" to silence other and compel positive acts from others) and he does go after inequality which is not necessarily a conservative issue. His segments sometimes make me rethink issues, which is more than I can say for many TV talking heads. The segment Cole is referencing is anti-corporation, and anti-Republican swamp rat. It's not a conservative vs. liberal segment.
Having said that, Carlson is not perfect. Sometimes he annoys the hell out of me. Usually he can admit he is wrong, but sometimes he can't, and he starts that laugh of his.
But, all in all, a relatively good political analysis show, given the alternatives.
