It's an interesting take. Singer / Venture Capital are easy targets and I think Tucker oversimplifies this scenario. It's tough to know whether Cabela's could have survived on its own. The company's leadership at least deserves a similar amount of blame for a) allowing the company to become a takeover target and b) agreeing to be taken over.
Having lived in Denver, I once make the trek - some called it a pilgrimage - to Sydney to visit Cabela's. This was before there were Cabela's / Bass Pro shops in every town. The store was simply incredible. It's terrible to see what has happened to Sydney.
Sasse and other state political leaders should have done more.
