When I was typing the first post, I asked my wife, "The Librarian with Noah Wyle was a TV movie, right?"
Her response was, "I think so. He hasn't been in a movie in a long time." I didn't tell her about this story, so it was an unbiased appraisal of what happened to his career. He continues to appear in movies/shows, but I don't think anyone outside the loop would've predicted such a modest career after his stardom on ER.
He may have found out about Bo Derek's mansion, which he later purchased, simply through normal means, but it wouldn't surprise me if they connected at first because both are involved in work for the preservation of animals and their habitats. John Derek died the year before Wyle bought it from Bo.
On a sidenote, a number of Hollywood wildlife preservation advocates were Republican/conservative actresses: Doris Day, Tippi Hedren, Mary Tyler Moore, Bo Derek. I know there's another Old Hollywood actress in this vein, but I forget who she was.
Oh, and the jelly's in the mail!
