Some possibilities:
- Natural Global Warming (NGW)...I think we all agree this is happening...and that it has happened in the past many times, in a cyclic manner, after extended periods of natural global cooling (e.g., ice ages). Humanity developed civilization at the peak of one of these cycles, and if those cycles continue, global cooling would be very bad for humanity. We are a warm weather species, like most biologically complex species.
- NGW with human contribution, but insignificant contribution (e.g., 99% natural, 1% man...or whatever...you get the point)
- NGW with significant human (anthropogenic) contribution (N&A-GW) which is reversible
- N&A-GW which is harmful to humans (HN&A-GW)
- HN&A-GW which is apocolypitic (AHN&A-GW)
- AHN&A-GW, but still donate to the Democrat Party to redistribute wealth anyway (AHN&A-GW...bsdttDPtrwa)
There are many levels of claims out there regarding GW, and when the crazy ones like AHN&A-GW...bsdttDPtrwa are shown to be problematic, you can't just fall back to the one everyone agrees upon (NGW) to bolster the attempt to push the crazy ones.
Part of the problem is the loose terminology that is used in this debate. Does GW mean NGW? N&A-GW? or AHN&A-GW...bsdttDPtrwa? The answer depends on which stage of the argument you are in...the hook phase, or the donation/voting phase. This is where claims of hoax come in, because the proponents play games with the words they are using (and I concede that sometimes they don't even know they are doing it).
Scientific arguments are made at the NGW and AGW levels, but political arguments (which are open to debate) are made at higher levels. The Left likes to pretend the higher levels are scientifically based, but they are not.
The other problem is the outrageous claims made in support of a normal thing...that encourages people to call into question even normal things, like NGW...which is a mistake, but which is understandable given how the Left behaves on this issue. The removal of the signs at the park doesn't mean there is no NGW, but it does mean the alarmism intended to secure power for the Dems is in question.
