1) The Department of Justice should be apolitical, making charging decisions on the facts, evidence and circumstances of the alleged wrongdoing,
2) Federal prosecutors, per their oaths, are "ministers of justice" and no person is above or below the law.
3) The Attorney General works for the American people. The President is NOT his client.
4) US Presidents ought not intervene in federal investigations or cases.
5) US Presidents ought not publicly comment or weigh in on federal investigations or cases.
6) US Presidents and/or the Attorney General ought not obstruct investigations, especially when the target of the investigation is a member of their political party or the President himself.
7) US Presidents and/or the Attorney General should respect and honor the rule of law, and encourage others to do so.
