- his "man of the people" routine. My understanding is that Papa Buttigieg kept him away from all the local, unwashed proles. I'll bet there are some South Bend locals on this site who can verify this.
- similarly, the employment of this routine as he grovels at the feet of plutocrats and oligarchs.
- his military service to counteract customary attacks on leftist candidates. Like just about everything about him, I have little doubt that this was the motivation, particularly given Pappy's views. Pete is basically a modern Red Diaper Baby.
- the pathetic pandering to black voters. Unsurprisingly, they aren't buying it, because it isn't authentic. The idiots put out a campaign material with black people on the cover. Only problem? They're Kenyan. His campaign lists all the black pols and significant figures who support him, even though most did not endorse him. Some came out and declared it unseemly for him to do this.
- parroting the woke/SJW dogma on the campaign trail even though it's patently obvious he doesn't believe it.
- his nauseating condemnations of Christians and piety. It's like having to listen to a philandering alcoholic lecture you on your moral failings. I think he's about as Christian as Trump is.
Other than that, he's a (pardon the pun) straight-shooter.
With regards to your last sentence, that was precisely my point about his moralizing. Our blessed commentators and activists have no problems decrying fundamentalist Christians lecturing the rest of us about our failings, but they have no criticism whatsoever about St. Pete doing it.
