I think a more useful statistic would be for all state health departments in the US start reporting the number/percentage of hospital beds utilized and of those how many are due to respiratory issues and then the percent of ICU beds used for respiratory diseases.
I also wonder how many hospital beds are actually available per year because I know many hospitals that have been shut down.
The problem has been recognized. So other than social distancing and use of soap and cleanliness, why shut down almost the entire US economy for an undisclosed time period?
