That whole Laurel Canyon music scene was part of the soundtrack of my life but never, and I mean never, were any kind of influence in my daily life. Neil Young & CSN&Y were just as important to me as the Dave Clark Five. It was just about the music. I saw old Neil in an acoustic show back around '69 or '70 in Chicago. It was intimate and he was good. Can't remember much preaching. Saw CS&N a few years later and it was one huge lefty gospel fest, mostly from Crosby and Nash. Saw Bonnie Raitt once. Same damn thing. Instead of performing, they were lecturing and these idiots in the crowd were into it. Spending good money NOT to hear music. Now they're thinking.
