We sheltered at home to avoid an Italy/Spain situation, and it has stemmed/slowed the tide of death. But even with that, 51,000 deaths in less than two months is awful. It is not as bad as the worst potential outcomes, but it seems pretty much in line with what I understood to be the probable outcome. I don't remember anyone lying to us, except those that said it was no worse than the flu. However, no serious media touted that story much, so no harm done.
